1. 用作副詞，表示“也許”，表示不確定語氣，通常位于句首，有時(shí)也放在句中或句末。如：

◆persuade v.

1. 表示“說服某人做某事”，一般用 persuade sb to do sth /persuade sb into doing sth, 也可以用 persuade sb＋ that-從句(從句前的 sb 不能省去，且謂語要用“should＋v. ”)。如：

他說服了她嫁給他。

正：He persuaded her to marry him.

正：He persuaded her into marrying him.

正：He persuaded her that she should marry him.

2. persuade 表示“勸服”，若表示 “勸而不服或勸說不一定成功”時(shí)，應(yīng)用 try [want] to persuade 或 advise。如：

They tried to persuade him to stay, but he just wouldn’t listen. 他們勸他留下，可他不聽。

3. 表示“使相信”(=convince)，常用于 persuade sb of sth /persuade sb＋that-從句(從句前的 sb 仍不能省去，但從句謂語用陳述語氣)。如：

作為一門學(xué)科的“物理”或“物理學(xué)”，是不可數(shù)名詞，表示單數(shù)意義；若表示某人在物理這門學(xué)科方面的實(shí)際能力或運(yùn)用水平，則可以表示復(fù)數(shù)意義(也可表示單數(shù)意義)。如：

Physics is taught by Mr Wang. 物理由王先生教。
