unit表示“單位”的用法與易錯(cuò)點(diǎn)
unit 表示漢語(yǔ)的“單位”，主要有兩種可能，一是指構(gòu)成整體的“單位”或“單元”；二是指計(jì)數(shù)或計(jì)量的“單位”。如：
The book is divided in to ten units. 這本書(shū)分成10個(gè)單元。
The family is often taken as the unit of society. 家庭常被視為社會(huì)的基本單位。
A gram is a unit of weight. 克是重量單位。
The meter reads 5,500 units. 儀表標(biāo)明為5,500單位。
所以，我們平常說(shuō)的“工作單位”，通常不宜用 unit 表示，可根據(jù)情況靈活表達(dá)。如：
All my workmates are friendly to me. 我單位的同事對(duì)我都很好。
Her friends from work came to see her in hospital. 她工作單位的朋友到醫(yī)院來(lái)看望她。
I live a long way from work, as you know. 我住得離工作單位很遠(yuǎn)，這你是知道的。
若所說(shuō)的單位指的是工作地點(diǎn)，則可考慮用 workplace。如：
It takes me half an hour to go to my workplace by bus. 我到單位上班要坐1小時(shí)的公交車(chē)。
當(dāng)然，如果所說(shuō)的“單位”指的是構(gòu)成整體的部分，則可用unit來(lái)表示。如：
I can see no justification for dividing the company into smaller units. 我認(rèn)為沒(méi)有理由把公司劃分成小單位。
Both units are largely dependent on the parent company. 兩個(gè)單位均主要依靠母公司。
附錄：unit 的意義比較多，除以上提到的用法外，它還可表示：
(1)（機(jī)構(gòu)中的）科，室，部門(mén)。如：(m.52ysedu.com)
She has been transferred to another unit. 她調(diào)到另外一個(gè)部門(mén)去了。
(2)（團(tuán)隊(duì)或部隊(duì)中的）小隊(duì)，分隊(duì)。如：
It’s a unit of highly-trained soldiers. 那是經(jīng)過(guò)高度訓(xùn)練的士兵小分隊(duì)。
(3)（一幢樓中的）一套房子，一單元。如：
The building contains 50 housing units. 這座大樓有50套住房。
(4)（機(jī)器中的）構(gòu)件，部件，元件。如：
the central processing unit in a computer 計(jì)算機(jī)的中央處理機(jī)
(5)（家具的）組合件，一套中的一件。如：
I want to buy some kitchen units. 我想買(mǎi)些廚房設(shè)備。
